Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)
Location: Madison, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
This position is ideal for a technician who is comfortable troubleshooting complex issues, working with PLC-controlled equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to keep operations running efficiently.

Base Pay: $28.09 – $29.34/hour

Shift Premium: $2.00/hour (for applicable shifts)

Course Pay: +$0.50/hour for each completed technical course (up to 11 courses)

Graduation Pay: +$1.75/hour upon completion of required coursework

Tenure Pay: +$0.75/hour annually for the first 3 years
Key Responsibilities
-
Diagnose and repair production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and related control systems
-
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
-
Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and other test equipment to identify issues
-
Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement long-term solutions
-
Document maintenance activities and findings within a CMMS system
-
Communicate regularly with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly
-
Coordinate with external vendors and parts suppliers when necessary
-
Maintain compliance with all safety standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations
-
Adapt to changing production needs and prioritize work accordingly
Qualifications
Required:
-
Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience
-
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Experience working with and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley or similar)

Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters
-
Strong communication skills and ability to document equipment issues clearly

Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar systems
Preferred:

Experience using a CMMS system (Maximo or similar)

Working knowledge of OSHA standards and electrical safety (NFPA 70E)
