A growing, locally led community bank in Fargo is seeking an experienced Business Banking Officer to develop and expand relationships with small to mid-sized businesses across the region. Position Overview

The Business Banking Officer is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of commercial clients through proactive relationship development, sound credit judgment, and strategic business development. This role serves as a trusted advisor to business owners while partnering internally to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and expand a portfolio of business clients, including small to mid-sized companies across diverse industries

  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement

  • Structure and manage commercial loans, lines of credit, and deposit relationships

  • Analyze financial statements and assess credit risk to ensure prudent lending decisions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business clients, providing proactive guidance and responsive service

  • Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards

  • Partner with credit, treasury management, and operations teams to deliver seamless solutions


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, credit analysis, or related financial services

  • Demonstrated success in building and growing commercial loan and deposit portfolios

  • Strong financial analysis and credit underwriting skills

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production goals

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred

  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, treasury management, and business banking services
