Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift

Location: Madison, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM


We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support equipment reliability and production operations on the overnight shift. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment while helping ensure a safe and efficient production environment.

This opportunity is ideal for technicians who enjoy hands-on mechanical work, problem solving, and continuing to build their technical expertise in a highly skilled manufacturing setting.


Compensation & Pay Structure

$3,500 Sign-On Bonus

  • Half paid upon start

  • Half paid after 6 months of employment

Base Pay: $28.09 – $29.34 per hour
Shift Premium: $2.00 per hour

Additional earning opportunities include structured skill progression:

Course Pay

  • $0.50 per hour increase for each completed class

  • 11 technical courses available

Graduation Pay

  • $1.75 per hour increase after completing the 5 required courses

Tenure Pay

  • $0.75 per hour increase for each year of service (up to 3 years)

  • In rare cases, highly experienced technicians may receive tenure credit upon hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime

  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals

  • Support production teams by responding to equipment issues in a timely manner

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain organized work areas

  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or mechanical repair

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Experience reading schematics, prints, or equipment manuals

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development
