Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a highly respected law firm in Madison to hire an Associate Attorney to join its growing civil litigation practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 0-3 years of experience who is eager to build a long-term career in litigation while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team.

The firm is seeking someone who is intellectually curious, possesses exceptional writing abilities, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate enjoys legal research, takes pride in producing high-quality written work, and is looking for a firm with a strong culture and mentorship-focused approach.

This role offers exposure to both state and federal litigation matters and provides meaningful opportunities to develop litigation skills from the early stages of a case through resolution.

 

What You'll Be Doing

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and memoranda

• Assist with case strategy development and litigation planning

• Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery requests

• Support depositions, hearings, and trial preparation

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation matters

• Collaborate closely with attorneys across a variety of cases and practice areas

• Manage assignments efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail

Approximately 80% of this role involves legal research and writing.

 

What They're Looking For

• 0-3 years of litigation experience or relevant legal internship and clerkship experience

• Exceptional legal research and writing skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• A positive attitude and desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Eagerness to learn and develop as a litigation attorney

• Wisconsin Bar admission or ability to obtain admission promptly

 

Compensation & Benefits

• Base compensation of $110,000-$150,000 depending on experience and hours recorded
