A well-established and growth-oriented financial services firm is seeking a Retirement Plan Practice Lead to build, lead, and expand its employer-sponsored retirement plan division. Position Overview
The Retirement Plan Practice Lead will take ownership of the strategy, growth, and execution of the firm’s retirement plan services. This role blends consulting, relationship management, and business development—serving as a trusted advisor to plan sponsors while actively expanding the practice.
You’ll play a key role in building and scaling the division, enhancing processes, strengthening partnerships, and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the growth of the retirement plan practice, including new business development and client expansion
- Serve as the primary consultant and relationship manager for plan sponsor clients
- Provide fiduciary guidance, including 3(21) and 3(38) investment advisory services
- Guide plan design, benchmarking, and long-term strategy for employer-sponsored plans
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations and industry best practices
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with plan providers, TPAs, custodians, and other key stakeholders
- Develop and enhance workflows, reporting, and operational efficiencies to support scale
- Lead participant education initiatives to drive engagement and improve retirement outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in retirement plan consulting, administration, or advisory services
- Strong knowledge of qualified retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, cash balance, IRAs)
- Proven ability to build relationships and drive business with business owners, executives, and HR leaders
- Experience in business development, client growth, or practice-building strongly preferred
- Professional certifications such as CPFA, AIF®, or QKA® are a plus
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
