Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Location: Madison, WI
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

This position is ideal for a technician who is comfortable troubleshooting complex issues, working with PLC-controlled equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to keep operations running efficiently.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Sign-On Bonus: $3,500

    • Paid in two installments (upon start and after 6 months)

  • Base Pay: $28.09 – $29.34/hour

  • Shift Premium: $2.00/hour (for applicable shifts)


Additional Earning Opportunities

We offer a structured pay progression program that rewards skill development and tenure:

  • Course Pay: +$0.50/hour for each completed technical course (up to 11 courses)

  • Graduation Pay: +$1.75/hour upon completion of required coursework

  • Tenure Pay: +$0.75/hour annually for the first 3 years


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and related control systems

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals

  • Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and other test equipment to identify issues

  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement long-term solutions

  • Document maintenance activities and findings within a CMMS system

  • Communicate regularly with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly

  • Coordinate with external vendors and parts suppliers when necessary

  • Maintain compliance with all safety standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations

  • Adapt to changing production needs and prioritize work accordingly


Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Experience working with and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley or similar)

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters

  • Strong communication skills and ability to document equipment issues clearly

  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar systems

Preferred:

  • Experience using a CMMS system (Maximo or similar)

  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and electrical safety (NFPA 70E)
