Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Credit Administration Officer to support the credit administration and risk management functions of a growing financial institution. This position plays an important role in maintaining strong credit quality, consistent lending practices, effective portfolio monitoring, and regulatory readiness.
The Credit Administration Officer will work closely with commercial and business banking teams, credit administration, special assets, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will bring strong credit expertise, analytical ability, and organizational skills while helping promote a disciplined and consistent credit culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Administration & Governance

Support credit administration processes across commercial, agricultural, construction, consumer, and specialty lending portfolios.

Help ensure consistent application of credit policies, underwriting standards, and credit administration procedures.

Monitor credit policy exceptions and track outstanding corrective actions through resolution.

Support risk-rating governance through monitoring, reporting, documentation, and follow-up.

Coordinate watchlist reporting, portfolio reviews, and associated action items.

Partner with Special Assets and other stakeholders regarding reporting and documentation for problem credits.

Assist with preparation for regulatory examinations, loan reviews, audits, and independent credit reviews.
Credit Quality & Portfolio Monitoring

Monitor criticized, classified, special mention, and watchlist credits.

Analyze and report on credit quality and portfolio trends.

Track risk-rating migration and support efforts to improve the consistency and accuracy of risk ratings.

Monitor concentration risk, emerging credit concerns, and significant credit relationships.

Support financial analysis, cash-flow analysis, stress testing, and guarantor assessment standards.

Assist leadership in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating credit risk across the loan portfolio.
Credit Training & Development

Coordinate structured credit training programs for lenders, analysts, market leadership, and other lending professionals.

Assist with the development and administration of annual credit education plans.

Coordinate credit discussions, portfolio review sessions, case-study workshops, examination-readiness training, and credit education programs.

Track participation, completion rates, competency assessments, and training effectiveness.

Partner with Human Resources to support onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Help promote a consistent credit culture and continuous-learning environment across the organization.
Commercial Construction Draw Monitoring

Monitor commercial construction loan draws for completeness and compliance with approved credit terms.

Track draw requests, inspections, lien waivers, title updates, budget variances, contingency usage, and borrower equity contributions.

Maintain construction draw monitoring logs and exception reports.

Identify and escalate unresolved documentation issues, budget overruns, or approval concerns.

Support strong documentation practices and examination readiness for construction lending activities.
Reporting & Management Support

Prepare and maintain credit administration dashboards and management reporting.

Monitor trends involving criticized and classified assets, risk-rating migration, policy exceptions, past-due loans, construction draw exceptions, and credit-training metrics.

Provide accurate and timely portfolio information to support management decision-making.

Assist executive leadership with portfolio monitoring, risk-management initiatives, and special projects.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Approximately 5–10 years of experience in commercial banking, credit administration, commercial lending, loan review, underwriting, portfolio management, or a related discipline.

Strong working knowledge of commercial lending and credit administration.

Experience with agricultural, consumer, and/or construction lending is highly desirable.

Experience with regulatory examinations, risk-rating systems, loan review, and credit governance preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of credit analysis, cash-flow analysis, financial statement interpretation, loan structuring, and portfolio management.

Working knowledge of banking regulations and regulatory expectations related to lending and credit administration.

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$95,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
